TEi Achieves SHARP Certification

Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. (TEi) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). SHARP is a voluntary program for small businesses sponsored by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the government agency responsible for setting and enforcing safety standards in the workplace. With this prestigious certification, TEi joins 31 other SHARP-certified small businesses across the state of Missouri.

Responsible for the design and manufacture of high-quality pressure vessels and heat transfer equipment for the power generation and process industries, TEi is a subsidiary of Babcock Power Inc. TEi earned SHARP certification status after undergoing a lengthy safety evaluation conducted by OSHA’s On-Site Consultation Program from July 11, 2023, to February 1, 2024. The attainment of SHARP certification signifies that TEi has demonstrated an exceptional commitment to the standards of workplace safety and health. This certification also indicates proactive effort in building a secure working environment, mitigating hazards, preventing injuries and illnesses, and developing a robust culture of safety.

“The welfare of our employees is our most valuable asset,” declared Ken Murakoshi, President & CEO, of Thermal Engineering International. “It is the most prudent investment we can make because ensuring the safety and health of our employees helps us to protect the safety and health of our customers and the communities we serve.”

This certification signifies that TEi is dedicated to exemplifying the standards of workplace safety and health. It reflects the contribution made by the entire workforce—employees and employers alike—to create and maintain a safe workplace for each other and for anyone who enters their workspace. To earn this prestigious certification, their safety metrics and programs exceeded minimum thresholds. It also passed the rigorous OSHA certification audit, which required thorough preparation, adherence to safety protocols, and painstaking documentation of safety procedures. TEi is committed to creating a secure working environment; reducing hazards; actively preventing injuries and illnesses; and fostering a culture of safety for its employees and clients under all circumstances.
