Babcock Power Inc. Welcomes William L. Sigmon to Board of Directors

William L. Sigmon joins the Babcock Power family as the newest member
of its Board of Directors.
 

Louisville, KY, May 24, 2013 – Babcock Power Inc. (BPI), a leading supplier to
the power generation industry, today announced that it has appointed
William L. Sigmon, former senior vice president of engineering, projects and
field services for American Electric Power (AEP), to its board of directors.
Mr. Sigmon has over forty years experience in the utility power market
and is highly respected throughout the industry for his extensive knowledge
and successful leadership.

As senior vice president of engineering, projects and field services for AEP, Sigmon was heavily engaged in the company’s multi-billion dollar environmental compliance program. He served on the Subcompany Board, the Risk Committee and the Wellness Steering Committee and also served as the chief executive officer of United Sciences Testing, Inc., an AEP subsidiary company. He was previously AEP’s senior vice president – Fossil & Hydro Generation, directing the activities of one of the largest generating fleets in the nation.  Before joining AEP, Sigmon served as senior vice president of project management and technical services for Duke Energy International and Duke Energy North America. Sigmon is a graduate of North Carolina State University in Raleigh, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering. He was recently awarded the Distinguished Alumnus Award of North Carolina State University by the Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering.
