Wet Flue Gas Desulfurization Upgrades

Babcock Power Environmental can apply its technology and experience to provide upgrades for any OEM’s WFGD system. BPEI upgrades existing scrubbers to meet today’s more stringent emissions regulations and achieve higher performance levels. The intent is to increase SO2 removal efficiency up to 99%, while minimizing additional pressure drop and energy consumption. These upgrades solve problems including poor gas distribution, and inefficient spray patterns.

Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Modeling is used to create better gas distribution, full spray coverage over absorbers, and ensure proper flow along walls. Bidirectional nozzles are installed with wider-angle spray cones, to provide complete coverage of the spray zone and increased gas-liquid collisions.
