Vogt to Supply Power Generation Equipment for Florida Utility

June 11, 2009

Danvers, MA – Vogt Power International Inc. (Vogt), located in Louisville, KY, a subsidiary of Babcock Power Inc., based in Danvers, MA, announced today that it has been awarded a contract by Zachry Industrial, Inc. to supply a Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) for the Florida Municipal Power Agency’s (FMPA) new electric generating unit at the Cane Island Power Park in Intersession City, FL (Osceola County). Vogt Power will supply one (1) three pressure level HRSG for use behind a GE-7FA gas turbine, including an auxiliary fired duct burner for higher efficiency and Selective Catalytic Reduction to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.

FMPA is expanding the Cane Island Power Park by building a high-efficiency, natural gas-fueled generating unit. The generator, known as Cane Island Unit 4, is expected to produce 300 megawatts, enough electricity to serve approximately 60,000 homes in Florida. The new generating unit, with its advanced environmental control technologies, is projected to be one of the cleanest and highest efficiency plants in the state.

Cane Island Power Park is jointly owned by FMPA and Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA). The new generator will be wholly owned by FMPA and operated under contract by KUA.

“Vogt is pleased to again be working with Zachry and FMPA to provide clean, efficient and reliable power into the Florida grid,” stated Mike LeClair, president of Vogt Power International. “Our products will be instrumental to this power plant to enable it to fulfill the area’s growing electricity needs in an environmentally responsible manner,” he said.
