Riley Power Equipment to Provide Clean, Bright Future for Iowa Coal Plant

Danvers, MA – Riley Power, Inc. based in Worcester, MA, a member of the Babcock Power Inc. family of companies, headquartered in Danvers, MA, announced today it has received a contract, valued in excess of forty-five million dollars, from Interstate Power and Light Co., a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corporation for the design and supply of a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and Low NOx burners for its Lansing Generating Station Unit 4, a 270 megawatt coal-fired boiler located in Lansing, Iowa.

SCR systems offered by Riley Power, which has over 37,000 MW in the USA in operation, under construction, or in design, utilize Riley Power’s unique Delta Wing® static mixing technology that provides; uniform flue gas and ammonia mixing, high NOx removal efficiencies over a wide operating load range, and rapid start-up and commissioning. SCR systems furnished by Riley Power utilize technology under an exclusive license from Balcke Durr GmbH and from other Riley Power proprietary sources. Riley Power’s low NOx Dual Air Zone (DAZ) Controlled Combustion Venturi (CCV ®) burners, with almost 30,000 MW installed worldwide, are helping utilities, electric cooperatives and municipalities provide cleaner, more efficient power to their customers. Once operational, the SCR and low NOx burners have the capacity to remove more than 90 percent of NOx emissions per year.
