Hard-Facing Weld Overlay
The rebuilding and then application of our patented Tungsten Carbide Matrix weld overlay process, has now been adapted to coal Pulverizer Grinding Rolls and Bull Ring Segments. Our patented weld overlay process, CLAD-TECH™, will provide more than twice the wear life of previously experienced wear life. — Guaranteed! In addition, we offer other overlay materials for less abrasive coals.

Hardsurfacing of rock crusher parts – Specifically, cone crusher liners and gyratory crushers. We hold a U.S. patent on the CLAD-TECH™ process for hardsurfacing rock crusher liners and gyratorys using tungsten carbide. CLAD-TECH™ has resulted in 50% additional life on large gyratory crushers to as much as 300% additional life on smaller cone crushers such as the AC500.

Why we do it….

The reason to apply Hard-Facing to parts that operate under abrasive conditions is, of course, to make them last much longer than the original part.

Rebuilding with weld overlay or “hard-facing” the components subject to high abrasion type wear had been a common practice in other industries; e.g. mining, but had not been applied to utility type pulverizer components. The change from replacing to rebuilding was driven by a lower cost for rebuilding and longer wear-life for the rebuilt Grinding Rolls compared to new Grinding Rolls.
