Burner Upgrades & Repairs
Babcock Power Services offers burner upgrades, repairs and retrofits for wall-fired, cell-fired, and corner/tangentially-fired applications. BPS’ retrofits for Low NOx wall and cell-fired applications include versions of BPS’ sister company’s (Riley Power Inc.) market-leading Controlled Combustion Venturi (CCV®) burner. These burners virtually “plug-in” to existing burner openings without costly pressure part modifications.

BPS also provides low-NOx solutions for units utilizing corner/tangential firing systems, wall-fired gas & oil burner technology, and improved low-NOx burners for its TURBO® Furnace designs. (link to Low NOx Burner page under Products for RPI and BPS)

Fuel Conversions
Fuel Conversions to meet mandated lower emissions levels or to burn cheaper or more abundant fuels are a Babcock Power Services specialty. Our experience includes not only fuel burning knowledge, but also the effect of the new fuel on existing heat transfer, tube metallurgy, and back-end equipment performance.

Pulverizer Parts & Services

Boiler Rebuilds
Rebuilds of retired or outdated boilers and/or their fuel burning equipment are often cost-effective and practical ways of meeting your current system-wide steam generating needs. We will inspect the equipment to determine the cost of rebuilding, while providing you the economic payback period to warrant the investment.

BPS can also provide cost-effective rebuilds of units damaged in service. BPS’ organization of field inspectors, boiler design engineers, and parts and fabricating facilities are available to you to get your unit, regardless of the OEM, back on line as soon as possible.
